International FISH Course
Photo by S. Juretschko The Department of Microbial Ecology offers an annual international FISH workshop. The one-week course includes a theoretical and a laboratory section. Main topics are:
 
• Principles of fluorescence in situ hybridization.
• Application of FISH in microbial ecology
• Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM)
• Computer-assisted digital image analysis
• Probe design and evaluation
• Advanced FISH techniques (e.g. (Click-)CARD-FISH, DOPE-FISH, Clone-FISH, FISH-MAR, Raman-FISH, NanoSIMS-FISH)
• Laboratory course: practical work with the participants' samples
 
International FISH Course 2015
We will unfortunately not be able to offer an International FISH Course in 2014. The next regular International FISH Course will take place in February 2015.
